  • Client Assistance Pantry – Free access to healthy, shelf-stable and fresh food for individuals and families facing food insecurity.

  • Emergency Financial Assistance – Short-term support for rent and utility expenses to help clients maintain stable housing.

  • Medical Transportation – Transportation assistance for medical and care-related appointments.

  • Support Groups – Safe, welcoming spaces to connect with peers and build community, like The Phoenix Group and BU F.I.T. (Facing It Together).

These services are available to eligible clients and are grounded in our commitment to dignity, equity, and holistic wellness.

  • Non-Medical Case Management at BU Wellness Network provides compassionate, client-centered support for individuals living with HIV. Our goal is to help clients overcome barriers, access essential services, and remain actively engaged in their healthcare journey.

Each client is paired with a dedicated Case Manager who works one-on-one to:

    • Assess needs and create an individualized care plan

    • Connect clients to supportive services such as food assistance, housing, transportation, and mental health resources

    • Coordinate referrals to medical providers, benefits programs, and community organizations

    • Offer emotional support, advocacy, and ongoing check-ins to ensure continuity of care

    • Help clients navigate complex systems with dignity and confidence

This service is designed for people living with HIV who do not require medical case management but still benefit from structured support. Our Case Managers are trusted guides who walk alongside clients, helping them access the tools and resources they need to thrive.

  • The Client Assistance Pantry at BU Wellness Network offers free access to nutritious food for individuals and families impacted by HIV who are facing food insecurity. We believe that access to healthy food is a vital part of overall wellness and a critical support for those managing chronic health conditions.

Our pantry provides a variety of options to meet diverse dietary needs, including:

    • Shelf-stable staples such as rice, pasta, canned goods, and cereals

    • Fresh produce and refrigerated items when available

    • Personal care and hygiene products as supplies allow

Clients can schedule regular pantry visits or receive food as part of a broader care plan through Non-Medical Case Management. Pantry services are confidential, stigma-free, and designed to reduce the burden of food insecurity while supporting health and stability.

  • BU Wellness Network offers Emergency Financial Assistance to help clients living with HIV maintain stable housing and essential utilities during times of financial hardship. This short-term support is designed to prevent disruptions that could negatively impact a client’s health, safety, or access to care.

Eligible clients may receive assistance with:

    • Rent payments to avoid eviction or secure new housing

    • Utility bills including electricity, water, and gas to prevent shut-offs

    • Other urgent expenses related to housing stability (based on availability and need)

Case Managers work closely with clients to assess need, determine eligibility, and coordinate payments directly with landlords or utility providers when possible. This program is part of our holistic approach to care—recognizing that stable housing is foundational to health and wellness.

  • BU Wellness Network provides Medical Transportation assistance to ensure that clients living with HIV can access the care and services they need—without transportation being a barrier.

This program supports travel to and from:

    • Medical appointments (primary care, HIV specialists, labs, etc.)

    • Mental health or substance use counseling sessions

    • Pharmacy visits

    • BU Wellness Network services and case management appointments

Transportation assistance may be provided through bus passes, ride share services, or other transportation methods based on the client’s location, needs, and availability of resources.

Our goal is to support consistent engagement in care, reduce missed appointments, and help clients stay on track with their treatment plans.

Eligibility: Available to clients living with HIV who are enrolled in services at BU Wellness Network. Requests should be made in advance through a Case Manager.

  • BU Wellness Network offers supportive, inclusive spaces for individuals to connect, heal, and grow—no matter where they are on their journey. Our support groups foster a sense of community, belonging, and empowerment through peer connection and shared experiences.

These groups are open to anyone seeking support—whether you're living with HIV, navigating recovery, or looking to strengthen your mental and emotional wellness. Facilitated by experienced staff or trained peers, each session offers a confidential and compassionate environment to share, reflect, and access helpful tools and resources.

    We currently offer:

    • The Phoenix Group – A peer-led support group focused on resilience, healing, and empowerment for people living with HIV. Participants find strength in shared stories and build lasting connections in a judgment-free space.

    • BU F.I.T. (Facing It Together) – A harm reduction-based program designed to support individuals who use drugs and/or alcohol, regardless of their stage of recovery. The BU F.I.T. team walks alongside participants as they navigate their personal journey—offering nonjudgmental support, community, and strategies for wellness.

Support groups are a vital part of our holistic approach to care—helping reduce isolation, improve emotional health, and encourage connection. Everyone is welcome, and every journey is honored.
